PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE VERSUS THE NHS

Anxieties over hospital super bugs and poor hygiene are pushing more people in to making the decision to take out Private medical insurance.

The fear of contracting MRSA, C.diff and waiting lists are the main reasons our clients have for considering private medical insurance.

Waiting times to see a specialist after being referred from the GP can be months, Health Ministers are working towards waiting times being cut in 2008 to no more than 18 weeks. This is still far too long.

Private medical insurance allows you to receive diagnosis to treatment quickly, in an environment that is conducive to a speedy recovery. There have not been any reported cases or MRSA or C.Diff to date in any private hospitals.

By having medical insurance you have the security of knowing that you will be seen by a specialist quickly and should treatment be needed you won’t be put on a waiting list. This is particularly vital if you are unable to work because of your illness or condition.

If you have to stay in one of the many private hospitals throughout the country then you can rest assured you will have your own private room with a bathroom. In NHS hospitals generally you are put on a ward, often these are mixed.

Of course you will still have access to the NHS as you always have, for appointments with your GP, Accident and Emergency and all the other services they offer.
